1) How can I join the team of volunteers for the festival? What work can I expect?
The NDR team is on site three weeks in advance and one week after the event. You can join when it suits you but at least one week upfront the festival starts.
We set up the attractions in the crypt and the park, the train track, the outdoor stage structure, ensure the numerous trips of material from our workshops in Rouen to the castle,
set up the big military tents, install the sound and light for the stage, the party room, prepare the large structures of the fire sculptures, etc. etc. The list of tasks is long and diverse, there is work for everyone and all help is appreciated.
During the festival we provide security and technical support. After the festival we dismantle and clean the site.
The team is housed, fed, and we split the work in small groups of 3 to 4 people who oversee their missions.
We need reinforcements, so don't hesitate to join us by sending an email to olivier@rosacrux.org or a PM on the Dark Ritual Nights Facebook page.

2) Is the number of places limited?
The capacity of the castle is 500 places.

3) Sanitary rules
Depending on the current situation, we will have to comply with the sanitary rules in force. The news seems to be green all summer long!

4) Are there showers at the campsite?
Yes, there are hot showers in the castle campsite (for a fee), please bring your own towels and shower products. Of course the washbasins and toilets are free.

5) Facilities, sanitary facilities, bins etc.?
Please bring enough toilet paper and rubbish bags for your waste and please help us recycling by throwing the glass bottles in the containers provided.

6) When will I receive my ticket?
There are NO entry tickets.
At the entrance to the castle you will be asked for your payment confirmation provided by PayPal or your bank, which you should print out and present at the entrance control.
We have a copy on our side and your name on our list. After verification, you will be given a wristband at the entrance control of the festival. This wristband must be worn visibly and must not be removed from your wrist during the whole festival.

7) I have a booth, how does this work?
If you have a booth, it means that you have been chosen in response to your application to the registration questionnaire.
Any stand not confirmed by us is strictly forbidden in the area. On site, you will have a covered space of 2m x 4m under a tent (military marabout) with a white table of about 1m20 x 80 cm and some chairs, light (neon) and a power socket.
Please bring your own extension cords, lighting, black cloths etc. We do not provide anything else. We do not take any responsibility for the surveillance of your booth and any risk of theft / vandalism, it is up to you to watch your stuff.
Sales are for your benefit only. The space is free to rent, however you are required to pay for your own entrance tickets, for yourself and any accompanying persons.
You will be able to access the booth with a vehicle on Friday morning before the doors open at noon, to unload your equipment.

8) Where can I park my car?
Around the castle, you will find signs indicating the large car park which is located 50m from the castle entrance. This car park is not supervised.
No cars will be allowed in the area and if you want to sleep in a camper van, the car park does not have electric sockets.

9) Can I get my money back?
ALL RESERVATIONS ARE FINAL. Except in case of cancellation, places will NOT be RETURNED or EXCHANGED.
The places for Nuits Dark Ritual are collected as a donation. These are no tickets that are bought but donations made to an association.
It is important to understand that this event is private and that it is more a big annual thank-you party to the donors than a show with an entrance ticket. This is specified several times when you procure your reservation.
As for a possible delay, we move forward with 100% confidence when we receive a donation for this event and the budget is used to build the sets. This starts 6 months in advance. If there is no more confidence our event becomes impossible.

10) Is there shelter in case of rain?
The main hall of the castle is open all night with a DJ to dance indoor. In the park, there are big fires all night long to keep you warm. The outdoor stage is covered and a large audience shelter is set up in front. Bring jumpers and blankets for camping, even in August, the village of Thoix is in a freezing valley.

11) Can I bring my own food and drink?
Nuits Dark Ritual relies on your support to make its cash flow profitable. It is an expensive event with a small attendance. It is therefore essential for us to count on your consumption in our booth with drinks and food. You will find on the spot: home-made chips, pig roasted on a spit in a slab of old-fashioned bread, sweet pancakes (jam, nutella, chestnut cream), savory pancakes (ham and eggs), hard-boiled or fried eggs, and a large dish of mushroom spaghettis. Coffee, tea, soft drinks and water, beer, wine, cider.

12) When can I arrive? When can I leave?
The doors open on Friday at noon and you can leave until Monday at around 2pm.

13) Can I bring my children and animals with me?
Due to nudity (Danse de la Terre) and dangerous installations throughout the park area (iron play machines) as well as unmarked ponds and swampy areas, children under 12 years of age are not allowed to enter.
It is also not possible to bring a pet, as there is a large dog in the castle that could endanger their lives.
